The AC Study and Research Abroad Programs department administers year-round fee-based study abroad programs, overseas research programs, and faculty-led programs in countries throughout Eastern and Southeast Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and East/Southeast Asia. As maintaining a sufficient enrollment in the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW .s study abroad and overseas research programs is vital to the department's overall success, the Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator is a key staff person. In close consultation with program staff, the Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator develops a comprehensive outreach plan to actively recruit students to participate in a wide range of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW .s programs. A key component of this plan will be extended recruitment trips to US universities and colleges, during which the Coordinator or other team members meet with faculty, study abroad staff, and students to speak about **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW .s study abroad programs and encourage interested students to apply. In addition to planning and conducting recruitment trips, the Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator works closely with other programs staff to design and print promotional materials, including the department's annual program booklet and flyers; distribute program information to public audiences; and update website materials. Further, the Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator organizes AC Study & Research Abroad alumni activities and manages the department's social media accounts. The position requires strong organizational, writing, and presentation skills; close attention to detail; strategic thinking; the ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently; and a readiness to communicate with diverse groups of people. At times during the year, the Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator may also work with programs staff on the general administration of AC Study & Research Abroad Programs, including processing incoming application materials, database maintenance, and compiling reports for funding agencies and donors. Extensive domestic travel is required for the position. The Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator reports directly to a Program Manager for AC Study & Research Abroad Programs. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Campus Recruitment In consultation with program staff, develops comprehensive, innovative recruitment and outreach plan for **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW .s study abroad and research programs; Plans and conducts US university campus visits, meeting with faculty, study abroad staff, and students to promote **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW .s programs; Organizes recruitment trips to US universities and colleges for AC Study & Research Abroad program staff, including the arrangement of classroom presentations and meetings with key faculty and study abroad staff on campus; Exhibits at national and regional conferences to promote **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW .s programs; Maintains a calendar of all recruitment activities; Maintains contact with US university faculty and administrators to strengthen existing networks and develop new contacts, thereby increasing AC Study & Research Abroad visibility on US campuses and inform students and staff of new and existing program opportunities; Design & Outreach Designs and updates AC Study & Research Abroad Programs promotional materials, including printed booklets, posters, flyers, and advertisements in newsletters and conference programs; Coordinates the annual mailing of promotional booklets to more than 1,500 university contacts; Creates and posts announcements of application deadlines to listservs and newsletters; Organizes and implements a series of webinars, promotional videos, and virtual information sessions, with support from AC Study & Research Abroad Programs team; Produces content for social media geared towards engaging applicants and program alumni; manages the departments social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn; Monitors websites for accurate program information, including department websites, university websites, and study abroad review websites; updates information on websites regularly to ensure correctness; Maintains a calendar specific to advertising and outreach activity; Alumni Engagement Coordinates AC Study & Research Abroad alumni activities such as the Alumni Ambassador Program; alumni success stories; and local alumni gatherings; Plan and convene program alumni panels for pre-departure orientations; Administrative Develop and implement new outreach initiatives and campaigns; Works within program budgets to track expenses and execute cost-effective advertising strategies; Regularly attends department activities, including orientation sessions, weekly staff meetings, and RD debriefs to remain abreast of program developments; Assists in writing about recruitment, outreach, and alumni activity in grant proposals and reports; Assists with additional administrative duties as assigned, including but not limited to visa processing; tracking incoming documents; uploading acceptance materials to the website; and planning and presenting at pre-departure orientations. Customer Service Responds to telephone calls and e-mail inquiries; assists in daily operation of the AC Study & Research Abroad office; Maintain regular communication with prospective applicants, study abroad offices, faculty, alumni, and other program stakeholders; Ensure high quality, consistent, and professional customer service to all stakeholders. Qualifications Requirements Bachelor's degree required; Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English; Proven ability to handle high volumes of communication effectively and professionally with students, faculty, study abroad administrators, and parents; Familiarity with US academic culture broadly and study abroad trends in particular; Strong public speaking skills and ability to present information clearly and concisely; Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; Effective time management and prioritization skills; Ability to work independently while contributing to overall team effort; Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook); Additional Information/Preferences Master's or other advanced degree preferred; Design experience in software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and video editing software for creating promotional materials preferred; Experience working with social media in a professional context; Experience living and/or working or studying abroad desirable; Public speaking or teaching experience preferred; Knowledge of a foreign language in a region relevant to AC Study & Research Abroad programs preferred, but not required).
