IBM Global Security Vulnerability Management Consultant in Washington, District Of Columbia Job Description Global Security Vulnerability Management Consultant Are you passionate about Cybersecurity? Do you enjoy engaging with Clients to uncover security vulnerabilities and help fix them? Are you interested in joining a team of like-minded passionate experts, many of whom have decades of experience breaking into anything and everything to help organizations strengthen their security? If so, X-Force Red, IBM Security's team of veteran hackers, is looking for a Senior Global Security Vulnerability Management Consultant, and you may be the perfect fit. Your Role The Global Security Vulnerability Management Consultant will be a part of X-Force Red Offensive Security, IBM's veteran security testing team. It is critical that the consultant be able to rapidly interact to on-demand requests with minimal assistance. There is a potential for 25% travel, including international travel. Travel depends on project requirements. Your Abilities & Skills The following Core Consulting skills for this role include: * Effective communication and presentation skills * Demonstrated written skills * Comfortable working in a project based / client serving model * Ability to lead and shape client expectations * Help drive pursuits and engage in complex deals, matching outcomes to expectations * Ability to work easily with diverse and dynamic teams * Ability to work in a matrix management model Your Responsibilities The primary duty is conducting vulnerability management activities for clients' vulnerability management needs. Secondary duties include assisting in the sales process with potential or existing clients, and acting as a client's primary technical contact for vulnerability management projects delivered by X-Force Red Offensive Security. Required Technical and Professional Expertise * Experience with at least one of the following vulnerability management tools: Qualys, Nessus or Rapid7. Certifications are highly valued. * At least 3 years of consulting experience, preferably in the information security field * At least 5 years of system administration, network administration, or programming experience * Experience coordinating vulnerability management projects * History of presenting to executives * Effective English writing skills Preferred Tech and Prof Experience * At least 5 years of consulting experience, preferably in the information security field. * At least 2 years of experience managing one or more of the following: Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) * Programming experience in one or more of the following: Perl, NodeJS, Python , Java, .Net or Ruby. * Database experience in one or more of the following: SQLite, MySQL or PostgreSQL. * CISSP, OSCP, or other technical certifications * Hands-on experience in security aspects of compliance standards (ISO 27001, SSAE 16, COBIT, PCI, SOX, HIPAA, GLBA, etc.) * Experience editing documents for grammar, clarity, and technical accuracy EO Statement IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
