Palace Florists, a 3rd generation, family owned and operated established Rockville flower shop serving the DC metro area for over 75 years is seeking enthusiastic, hardworking, and quality focused individual for salaried / hourly position of: Floral Operations Manager: Have you always loved flowers and the floral arts; always worked in the floral industry and looking for a change from the typical floral design position or are you an established floral manager and looking for the ability to use and share your years of floral industry knowledge? . . .. If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this is the perfect working environment for you. This is a full-time position, collaborating with our team of floral designers and working with family business owners. Main responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Daily floral design Managing the day to day design work Purchasing and delivery operations of a busy floral business Daily quality control Sales and customer retention Working with the owners, the floral design team and the delivery staff We see the following type of individual as a perfect fit for this position: A career floral manager looking for a new opportunity. An experienced, intelligent, career minded florist with at least 10 plus years of handling all aspects of the day to day operations of a high volume, upscale flower shop. Organized and customer service oriented individual with years of floral industry experience looking to expand into floral management. This is a career position for an experienced and seasoned floral industry professional. This is not a position for those who say: "I've always wanted to work in the flower business." "I used to help my mom or grandmother arrange flowers." "I've done a wedding out of my basement before." "I once helped my friend arrange her/his wedding flowers." Additional requirements include: Outgoing and competent customer service and communication skills. Must be personable, friendly and can handle successes as well as failures that accompanies all career positions. Skills that include positive delegation of tasks as well as conflict resolution management. Proficient computer skills including all the basics, including Microsoft Office. Additionally, at this level, one should have experience on one or more floral industry computer systems. Full time, Monday thru Saturday hours. As well as some Sundays and all floral holidays, both on the weekdays and weekends. Ability to manage special event work during the week and weekends including but not limited to weddings, corporate functions, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, and conventions. Base salary / hourly rate to be discussed and commensurate to your individual floral industry experience.
