Set-Up Technician Summary: Responsible for the set-up and operation of our clients equipment to meet standard cycle times and quality requirements. Responsible for the proper inspection and handling of material, tooling and equipment. Duties and Tasks include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Promotion to Level 1 Set-Up Technician granted by President after adequate performance as Thin Gauge Line Tender.Follows all safety procedures and regulations. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for each activity. Notifies management of any discrepancies, equipment malfunctions and/or personal injuries immediately. Completes all tasks in a timely and efficient manner.Inspection, installation and removal of molds.Inspection, installation and removal of cutting dies.Sets pressure box widths and index.Sets lower die station widths. Installs match plates.Locate, retrieve and return tooling to and from appropriate mold storage area.Locate, retrieve and return proper tooling accessories from tooling rack (clamps, water jackets, wings/legs, etc.).Return all tools, equipment and supplies to their proper locations. Maintain a clean and organized working environment at all times. Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance checks per company standards.Perform regularly scheduled cleaning activities per company standards.Properly clean and lubricate equipment and supporting equipment per company standards.Record all corrective and preventive maintenance activities on appropriate logs and checklists per company procedures using accurate and legible handwriting. Performs other related duties as assigned.Availability to work approved overtime, at times with minimal notice.Physical Requirements:Frequent movement throughout the warehouse and production areas.Have the understanding on how to operate computer controls associated with machinery.Occasional operation of manufacturing equipment. Occasional handling and placement of various sized product from assembly line to final packaging. Occasional use of hand-held gauges and measuring devices. Frequent operation of hand and power tools, as well as warehouse equipment.Occasionally positions self to retrieve items from low shelving, under desks and tables and lower areas of equipment. Occasionally positions self to reach or place items on higher shelving or higher areas of equipment. Occasionally ascends/descends ladders.Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and attention to small detail. Occasional movement of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Frequent communication with employees is required. Must be able to exchange accurate information.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to working near moving mechanical parts; occasional hot and cold temperatures and moderate noise levels.Skills:.Language: Ability to read, print and write simple sentences clearly and effectively..Math: Ability to accurately add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Also to perform these operations using weight, measurement, volume and distance. Ability to count quickly and accurately..Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction; must rely on experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish goals in a variety of tasks. .OrganizationAbility to maintain a clean and organized work station with supplies and protective wear readily accessible. .ProfessionalismAbility to present oneself in a professional, respectable manner to all employees, customers and vendors..Time ManagementAbility to work in a fast paced, high change environment with limited supervision; a self starter. Ability to work under time pressure and prioritize to complete tasks in a timely manner..CommunicationOral and technical communication with coworkers and supervisors.
