Aerstone is seeking a Midlevel DevOps Engineer to support an agile software development team working in a large-scale IT production DevOps environment for a US intelligence agency. Security Clearance Required: None (must be clearable to DoD Top Secret/SCI). Location: Springfield, VA (1-2 days/per week); telecommute authorized (2-3 days/week). Schedule: Full-time. Percent Travel Required: N/A. Responsibilities:. Provide AWS expertise to the team for EC2 and High Availability (HA) zones. Help the team in preparing Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipelines for automated deployment to different environments. Prepare Jenkinsfiles, GitHub Triggers, and WebHooks. Provide application development and technical support for customer websites. Provide technical consultation on new systems development, new package evaluations, and enhancements of existing systems. Work with the team in two-week sprints to prepare CI/CD pipelines, application development, and automated test scripts. Provide level-of-effort sprint planning estimates to Scrum Master, along with lessons learned for sprint retrospectives. Participate in the technical design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of application enhancements. Plan, schedule, and conduct systems tests, monitor test results, and take appropriate corrective actions. Participate in special projects as required. Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience. Years of Experience Required: 5-8 years. Required Skills/Qualifications/Certifications:. Experience with UNIX/Linux environments. Expert level understanding of modern DevOps concepts, processes, and tools. Experience with AWS technologies. Hands-on knowledge of pipeline tools such as pipes, stdin, and stdout. Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MariaDB. Ability to write JUnit/TestNG and/or Selenium tests. Demonstrated ability to work in two-week agile development sprints. Experience working with a distributed team of software developers. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Certifications:. Experience with Python or Java development. Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry PaaS. Midlevel cloud certification, such as AWS Solutions Architect or AWS SysOps Administrator. Familiarity with modern web containers (ie, Apache, Tomcat, WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss, Jetty). Experience with or exposure to the Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, MapReduce, HBase, Hive, and Pig). Familiarity with NoSQL Databases such as MarkLogic and MongoDB. EEOC:.
