Call For Action, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit network of consumer hotlines founded in 1963. We support a nationwide core of media partners in 23 major US television markets. These media partners use volunteers, trained by Call For Action to assist consumers through mediation and education to resolve problems with businesses, government agencies, and other organizations. About the Position: Located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland and reporting to Call For Action's President, the Director of Business Development and Program Management will have operational responsibility for Call For Action's core programs, media partner engagement, and other fundraising and community activities. The Director will lead a dedicated and high-performing team of nationally distributed volunteers serving in our corporate offices and in the 23 major US media markets. Building on Call For Action's long and established history of consumer advocacy and dispute resolution, the successful candidate will further our public facing activities and outreach efforts, increase the organization's visibility, oversee the day-to-day operations of its programs, as well as maintain communications with our extensive array of associated media stations and consumer advocacy volunteers. The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate, with a history of increasing responsibility in outward facing roles and demonstrated ability to manage remote resources, add to our funding sources, and creatively position Call For Action for its next phase of expansion over the ensuing years. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Program Leadership: Oversee the management and continued development of all programs, including Call For Action's resolution activities, consumer awareness program development, annual conference, and volunteer recruitment/training. * Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including affiliate media outlets, funders, donors, volunteers, and government and community partners. * Operations and Financial Management: Oversee the successful execution of the organization's day-to-day operations, including effective fiscal decision-making and management, reporting, and compliance * Fundraising: Manage and grow existing funder relationships and implement expanded funding strategies that generate new revenue from diverse sources to ensure organizational sustainability. * Strategic Leadership: Assist the President in Call For Action's future growth, affiliate and volunteer expansion, and strategic direction; collaborate with the Board, staff, community, and key stakeholders to set clear goals and achieve the mission of Call For Action. * Communications: Serve as a passionate advocate for Call For Action, while increasing our national visibility. Basic Requirements: * Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, and at least four (4) years of relevant experience in consumer targeted organizations * A track record of increasing responsibility with experience in outward public-facing positions * Strong preference given to individual with experience in membership and/or volunteer organizations * Must have experience with social media applications and database uses * As with any non-profit, must demonstrate ability to manage fundraising efforts, and to conceptualize and implement new funding programs * Experience planning and hosting multifaceted events with varied logistical challenges a plus Professional Skill Requirements: * High energy level, sense of urgency, and decisiveness * Strong communication and presentation skills - both written and verbal * Proven record as a team player * Unquestionable integrity, credibility and character * Strong leadership, problem solving, and decision-making abilities * Demonstrated commitment to achieving meaningful and measurable outcomes * Demonstrated ability or potential to manage the strategic, financial, operational, and team leadership needs of a community-based action-oriented nonprofit Our Compensation and Benefits are competitive.
