As an Attorney for the CIA, you will handle a wide variety of legal issues, including:

Responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of US Government agencies, Congress, federal and state courts, plus the private sector, and will have regular contact with other Intelligence Community agencies, the White House, the National Security Council and the Departments of Defense, State, Justice, Treasury, Commerce, and Homeland Security.

  • US citizenship required (dual national US citizens are eligible).
  • All positions require relocation to the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
  • All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview, and a comprehensive background investigation.
  • All applicants must generally not have used illegal drugs within the last twelve months. The issue of illegal drug use prior to twelve months ago is carefully evaluated during the medical and security processing.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership from any of the 50 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the US Virgin Islands.
  • GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4-point scale.
