OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications is responsible for managing the Association's internal and external communications, as well as the Marketing and Communications Department creative project portfolio, to ensure editorial accuracy and consistency in branding and messaging. The Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications oversees two positions, the Marketing and Communications Specialist and the Copywriter, and reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Assists the Director of Marketing and Communications in strategy, project planning, and execution of department initiatives and projects Supervises two employees, including the Marketing and Communications Specialist and the Copywriter Oversees and protects the branding of the Association and subbrands, manages the development and maintenance of Association communications tools (eg photo and image assets, logo files, graphic and editorial style manuals, booth management tools, templates), and coordinates data and usage permissions for Association publications, reports, and website content Manages the rollout of the recruitment brand initiative, Choose DO, and is the key contact with the agency and internal groups Manages the Association's email calendar and by planning, executing, and tracking promotional and member blast emails Supports the Executive Office by drafting letters, articles, speeches, and quotes for the President and CEO and prepares executive reports on behalf of the Chair of the Board of Deans Oversees the development and management of the Association's creative project portfolio, including (but not limited to) recruitment marketing materials, annual conference projects and materials, stationary, e-newsletters, one-pagers, giveaways, branded staff items (such as name badges, lapel pins, and business cards), etc. Oversees Association publications, including project management, editorial support, order fulfillment, pricing, marketing, sales, and Amazon bookstore account Responsible for the marketing of the annual conference which includes the awards banquet and helps to produce the events (eg flow sheets, staging, cues for plenary sessions and the awards banquet) Manages all aspects of the Association's Excellence in Communications Awards program Participates in the messaging and executing of crisis communications planning Serves as staff liaison for the Development and Alumni Relations and Marketing and Communications councils Serves as Association's communications representative for IPEC Performs other duties as assigned. Which could include; proofreading, writing, and editing tasks. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or related field. Master's degree preferred. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of seven years of professional experience as marketing and communications professional required. Demonstrated project management experience required. Association or non-profit experience preferred, but not required.
