In this position, you will work under the supervision of the Senior Interior Designer to produce high-quality work. As a Junior Interior Designer at FOCUS, you should be highly creative and have a sharp eye for details. JUNIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER Responsibilities Include: Supporting the Senior Interior Designer Participating in various design projects from concept to completion Producing drawings and offering engaging design solutions CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Report directly to Senior Interior Designer Assists, prepares, and revises production of construction documents and other deliverables, including interior plans, elevations, and details Conduct research for the project team Assist in space planning, programming, and conceptual design activities Understand project requirements and concepts Assist with daily project administration tasks Participate in the selection finish palettes, and lighting Create finish boards Assist with Construction Administration tasks such as Submittals and Requests for Information Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators Conduct field surveys Collaborate with team member(s) on projects Assist with Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) Be hands-on with all aspects of day-to-day tasks QUALIFICATIONS Must have a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design (CIDA Accredited program) or a related design field 3-5 years of commercial interior design experience with Corporate, Government, Retail and/or Senior Living projects is required KNOWLEDGE/ ABILITIES/ ATTRIBUTES: Must be proficient in AutoCAD Experience with design and graphics editing tools (eg Photoshop, REVIT, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) is a plus Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications is required Experience with conducting field surveys is preferred Space Planning knowledge and familiarity with building codes is a plus NCIDQ certification is not required upon hire, but candidate with interior design background should intend to become an NCIDQ Certified designer Must have experience picking up drawing redlines Superb time management and organization skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Multi-tasker capable of working on multiple projects in different phases in a fast paced environment Candidate shall be thorough and deliver high quality results on time Candidate must be resourceful, self-sufficient, and self-motivated If interested, please send your resume and portfolio with the subject line "Junior Interior Designer" to: mmcghee@focus-arch.com .
