To qualify for a Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

Duty Hours: Incumbent is considered essential to the day-to-day operations of the installation and is subject to immediate recall or long term shift assignments 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for extended period of time. Incumbent is subject to shift rotation and assignment to abnormal tours of duty.

Responsibilities
- Serves as a Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist with full oversight and technical management of a team of emergency management specialists and contingency planning professionals and Chief of the EOC.
- Conducts operational plans and contingency operations in support of National Security Emergency Preparedness (NSEP).
- Makes decisions and/or initiates recommendations as to selection, promotion, transfer, commendation, training, and discipline of subordinate personnel.
- Performs a wide range of duties to include planning, analysis, development, and coordination, as well as evaluation of current and envisioned emergency preparedness/contingency plans and concepts.
- Establishes and monitors procedures to submit operational data reports through command and control systems in peacetime and under emergency conditions.
- Reviews and makes recommendations for priority emergency assignments to supporting and supported organizations.
