Summary

This position is located in the Chief Operating Officer Division and reports directly to the Associate Director of Operations. The incumbent serves the Office of Financial Research by providing a full-range of administrative support services, to include the facilities management; space management; and emergency/security management domains.

Responsibilities

As a Staff Assistant, you will:

-Receive and respond to all maintenance calls and calls related to problems/issues associated with the facilities and/or related administrative items.

-Maintain a high degree of awareness for management's objectives and ongoing technical programs and projects.

-Prepare routine correspondence, documents, charts, forms, and inter-office memoranda, etc., in support of OFR operations, projects and planning actions.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience for the Band 42 (GS 09 Equivalent): An applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the OR-0301-33 (GS-07 Equivalent) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled which has equipped the candidate with particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Successful experience can be gained in the Federal service or its equivalent in state or local government or private sector organizations. Specialized experience includes:

-Experience providing administrative office support such as organizing the office workflow, handling confidential and sensitive information, composing correspondence, locating information and resolving problems; AND
-Experience determining facility needs and making recommendations for space and security management; AND
-Experience ordering office supplies and equipment and run the inventory and electronic records management programs; AND
-Experience using automated systems, including financial, and other computer-based systems and applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

OR - You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Masters degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or L.L.B or J.D., if related.

OR - You may qualify by a combination of experience and education.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the OR-42, you must have been at the OR-41 level for 52 weeks.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
