Research Technician 3, Lombardi Comprehensive Care Center (LCCC) - Georgetown University Medical Center
The Research Technician 3 has the responsibility of collecting, processing and shipping lab specimens under numerous clinical protocols from outpatients participating in clinical trials at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. The duties are performed in accordance with the laws, regulations and guidelines, as well as Georgetown University Medical Center's philosophies, policies, procedures and standards. Duties are included but not limited to:
- Collection and processing study lab tests under different clinical trial protocols
- Study lab shipment to various lab facilities in accordance with the protocols
- Lab kit pick up and kit preparation provided for 5N infusion nurses for next day collection
- Training to the rest of the CRMO team's , DM and Nurse/Coordinators on kit preparation
- Specimen pick up and drop off at other labs
- Ensure that protocol guidelines are followed and proper modifications implemented
- Ability to implement a variety of clinical protocol techniques
- Participate in site initiation visits
Lab operations
- Documents sample process
- Lab sample query resolution
- Maintains freezer sample inventory
- Maintains freezer logs and day to day lab operations in accordance with the policies and procedures
- Organize lab and maintains clean lab conditions
Qualifications
- Medical assistant with a college degree
- At least 1 year experience in medical lab where human samples have been handled and processed.
- Highly organized and attention to details.
- Willingness to work as an integral part of a team.
- Positive communication skills.
