The CDS works with children ages birth to four with developmental delays and their families as part of the Montgomery County Infants & Toddlers Program (MCITP). The CDS provides family counseling and training to address the social emotional need of children utilizing a home-based family coaching model.

The Child Developmental Specialist:
1. Assist in scheduling eligibility and family assessments.
2. Provides family counseling and training to address the social emotional need of children utilizing a family coaching model.
3. Educates families about MCITP services and obtain background information as needed for assessment report.
4. Participates in eligibility and family assessments and assist in the development of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
5. Administers social emotional assessment tools, interpret results and write reports. Conduct clinical observations in homes, child care centers and the community.
6. Provides service coordination to families and collaborate with other professionals on multidisciplinary teams.
7. Collaborates with community partners such as Child Welfare Services and Early Head Start regarding support for children and families.

Qualified candidates will possess:
Master's degree in social work or related field.
Minimum licensure of LGSW or LGPC; LCSW or LCPC preferred.
Active BLS CPR card

Work Schedule:

This is a 32 hour position, either four 8-hour days or five 6.5 hour days.
