Summary

You will serve as a Engineering Technician in the Deck/Structural Work Center, Planning Branch, Production Control Division, Production Department of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.

Responsibilities

  • You will develop plans and sketches to prepare definitive Formal Work Procedures (FWP), Controlled Work Packages (CWP), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) work specifications and estimates of man-hours and material requirements for MARMC.
  • You will determine materials and obtain material quotes/prices for the purposes of procurement.
  • You will review manufacturer?s drawings, specifications, illustrated brochures, engineering handbooks, established design practices; or related information to select possible repair approaches for application.
  • You will assist group supervisors in training incoming personnel in all aspects of job performance to include: standard software programs, technical tools, planning policies, and procedures.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position requires rotating shift work.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

- Experience using engineering principles/production methods in ship repair, overhaul, industrial scheduling, and assisting in estimating material costs for all aspects in the ship repair industry.
- Experience using Automated Data Processing (ADP) hardware/software programs to include, but not limited to: Maintenance Resource Management System (MRMS); Autospec User System (AUS); Shipboard Nontactical Automated Data Processing (SNAP); Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP); Microsoft Office; and other similarly related software programs associated with planning.
- Experience assisting in performing inspections during ship repair of doors, hatches, scuttles, and other watertight integrity items aboard ships.
- Experience using technical libraries to assist in the research and documentation of support planning for Formal Work Packages (FWP) and Controlled Work Procedures (CWP).
- Experience providing assistance in the interpretation of manufacturer's drawings, blueprints or specifications and development of sketches and drawings.
- Experience using the federal supply system for ordering parts and materials in support of ship repair/overhaul.
