Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to perform warehouse functions including storage planning, storage space utilization, shipment and receiving, scheduling of work requests from Departments and Offices throughout the National Gallery of Art campus, planning of all supply activities, and receipt, storage and shipment of furniture, equipment, supplies, uniforms and other materials, and the conduct of studies.

Responsibilities

The incumbent serves as the Supply Management Specialist and reports to the Support Services Supervisor.

If selected, you will:
  • Advise on appropriate methods for managing the receipt, storage and distribution of equipment, supplies and other assets and materials.
  • Oversee contract management teams that may be required to physically move and relocate equipment, furniture, and employee personal work belongings.
  • Conducts operational studies.
  • Consistently communicate with the customer in a courteous, tactful and respectful manner on all issues.

Other Relevant Eligibility Criteria :

Requires eligibility for a motor vehicle operator's license, Class B-CDL. Requires ability to lift up to 70 pounds. Requires ability to operate a heavy-duty truck with rated weight capacities of at least four tons.

Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-2005-7.

A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 in the Federal service. Candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the federal GS-6 level, performing warehouse functions for an employer.
