Responsibilities

  • Serves as Systems Security Administrator (SSA) for SCMS systems.
  • Designs, acquires, modifies, evaluates, and administers information security systems which protect from unauthorized use, viruses, compromise of confidential information and overall system security.
  • Manages, administers, and ensures, security, maintenance, connectivity, via network operations of database systems.

Qualifications

Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Specialized Experience:
GS-13: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service that included experience such as: researching diverse IT trends and patterns, developing new methods and criteria for policies and procedures, developing ADP standards, guidelines and policies, applying application systems design, computer equipment analysis, general data processing covering a wide range of technology and applications.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
