Summary

You will serve as a Special Security Officer in the Naval Information Force Reserve of NIRR WASHINGTON DC.

All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Responsibilities

  • Personnel Security:
    • Participates in Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) indoctrination and education briefings for qualified individuals of activities served, their Reserve Units, and associated contractors.
    • Ensures DCID Standards (eligibility) are met, and administers SCI non-disclosure agreements to individuals prior to indoctrination.
  • Information Security:
    • Participates in tasks involved in the development, evaluation, implementation,or execution of information security programs with the objective of detecting and preventing hostile intelligence penetration which might endanger the activity or service, its sensitive operations, or its classified information.
  • Physical Security:
    • Participates in tasks relative to an assigned area in the security technology fields of intrusion detection systems, access control systems, sound masking systems and external and internal closed circuit television for one or more facilities.
  • Collects, reviews, interprets, evaluates and integrates security data from multiple sources to assess the relevance and significance of current or emerging security concepts, principles, practices and systems.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, such as: 1) Identifying security gaps, specifying requirements to fill gaps, and evaluating data through security reviews and inspections; 2) Assisting in the security technology fields of intrusion detection systems, and access control systems; 3) Utilizing sound masking systems and external and internal closed circuit television (CCTV); 4) Ensuring eligibility standards are met and administer Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) non-disclosure agreements prior to indoctrination; 5) Experience with Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) operations.

Master's or equivalent graduate degree.

OR

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

OR

LL.B. or J.D., if related.
