Summary

The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is within the local commuting area of Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

This position is located at Business Recreation Division, Fort Myer VA.

This is a Nonappropriated Fund Flexible (Flex) position that with no guaranteed hours and does NOT include benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general instruction on the use of equipment.
  • Performs duties of a Lifeguard
  • Assists in maintaining the pool area.
  • Ensures safety rules are followed.
  • Plans, conducts, publicize and arrange support for special events, social activities, tournaments and related functions.

Conditions of Employment

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position
  • A one year probationary period may be required
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty
  • Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Childcare National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI).
  • May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements.
  • All required certifications must be kept current.
  • A Health Assessment is required.
  • Work hours may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays and night duty


Qualifications

Work experience related to the duties described above that included customer service, operation and maintenance of facilities and fitness equipment; and possess the following certificates:
- Water Safety Instructor Certification
- Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- First Aid Certification
(Certificates issue by American Red Cross, Ellis @ Associates, Star Guard or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable)

For facilities that use Automated External Defibrillator "AED's" and Oxygen Administration "O2 bottles" the following is required:
- American Red Cross "Automated External Defibrillator" (AED) certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis &
Associates AED certification.
- American Red Cross "Oxygen Administration" certification or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Ellis & Associates Oxygen
Administration certification.

ONCE SELECTIONS ARE MADE, THIS ANNOUNCEMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE.

Applicants will be referred to selecting officials per bi-weekly cut-off date(s): 8 and 22 March; 5 and 19 April; 3, 17 and 31 May, and 14 June. The final referral list will be issued on July 1, 2019
