Gem Equity Markets is a highly specialized real estate investment banking and services firm led by industry veterans with decades of advisory, finance and transaction experience. The successful candidate must be a highly motivated, well organized professional who understands both family office and institutional commercial real estate finance. He/she will think like a "utility infielder" and have prior experience in real estate underwriting, transaction management, closing loans and/or property acquisitions. Must be highly organized managing transactions/data/document flow and meeting deadlines. This person could come out of a finance/investment institution and wants a high visibility role in a small firm, or a commercial real estate boutique looking for a place to grow. Responsibilities: Work with senior management to oversee project management and pipeline management; Manage the transaction pipeline and be responsible for weekly resource utilization (both internal employees and outsourced service providers); Manage company data files which are held in our secure data room and used for both company transactions with clients and accessed by potential lenders and equity investors; Manage the delivery and execution of confidentiality agreements which are executed with clients and potential equity investors; Coordinate due diligence materials for acquisitions and recapitalization's including the evaluation of property-level financial data such as rent rolls, historical operating statements, future operating budgets and capital expenditure budgets; Underwrite potential acquisition and recapitalization opportunities by reviewing financial analyses including cash flow projections and sensitivity analyses; Conduct property site inspections and market tours (some travel may be required); Create memos for presentation to potential lenders, investors and equity partners; Assist with transaction management duties on debt financing's and equity investments; Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with excellent academic credentials; 5-7 years of relevant work experience in real estate, finance or capital markets; Demonstrated proficiency in real estate financial analysis; Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information and translate into strategic deliverables; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; Ability to work independently and within a team; Motivated self-starter with effective time management skills and strong attention to detail; A desire to work within a fast-paced, collaborative and entrepreneurial environment; Travel as necessary to meet with potential partners and visit assets. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
