Department Profile The Financial Control Group (FCG) is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. FCG prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting FCG, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organization's financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. FCG is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review. The Investment Banking Division (IBD) Global Product Control group is seeking to fill an associate position that requires a highly motivated individual with strong analytical people and communication skills. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) management reporting, expense analysis, client invoice preparation, and handle daily PnL requirements. This person will report directly to a senior manager within Advisory Controllers and will have extensive contact with the M&A and Banking business units, M&A Administration, Worldwide M&A Controllers, and various product controllers. Primary Responsibilities - Revenue and Expense Reporting - M&A Weekly Management Report - Prepare monthly AVB expense analysis for M&A Admin Officer (research and provide commentary) - Prepare monthly 3Rs documentation for net revenue and balance sheet sign-off - Prepare various ad-hoc analysis for business unit and ISG reporting - Providing T0 global estimates for all fee?s earned - M&A Deal Related Updates - Daily dialogue with bankers relating to transaction updates, deal documentation, and potential billing opportunities - Assist in Invoice Preparation ? calculate ?Advisory Fees? to be invoiced and confirm fee with business unit - Maintain fee precedent schedules (Quarterly Progress Fees, Fee Splits, Incentive Fees, Global Aging) - Upload M&A deal related documentation into fee letter database based on terms reviewed in the engagement letter - Input M&A fee terms from engagement letters - Responsible for documentation relating to SOX and audit reviews - Assist in tracking IBD payments in bank account, make GL/TAPS journals, and update aging or receivables - Assist with IT projects, including system enhancements, UAT testing, and roll-outs - Handle daily inquiries relating to client/project and general administrative tasks Qualifications Skills required (essential) - Basic Accounting Knowledge with 0-3 years of experience - Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with self-confidence in dealing with senior staff - Technical aptitude ? Proficient in Excel and Business Objects - Must be organized in order to handle multiple tasks, shifting priorities, and function as part of a team with shared responsibilities - Independent worker who will ask questions, provide feedback, and accept change where appropriate Skills required (essential) - Basic Accounting Knowledge with 0-3 years of experience - Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with self-confidence in dealing with senior staff - Technical aptitude ?
