HR Business Partner - West Coast Bethesda, MD USA The primary responsibility of the Regional Human Resources Business Partner (RHRBP) is to support the company's HR initiatives in partnership with the Regional Vice President and their stores. The position helps set the people agenda for the region by partnering with the RVP to ensure that the region is: attracting top talent, actively developing their teams and retaining and engaging their people. The RHRBP is also responsible for providing guidance on employee relations issues and performance management. The RHRBP reports to the Vice President of HR Stores. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES + Partners with the RVP and EVP of Stores to ensure there is an active workforce planning practice in place to support the new store growth plans + Facilitates the Regional Talent Review and ensures there is an effective Succession Plan strategy in place for all key positions + Drives the talent acquisition efforts for the region, including internal and external managers, Supervisors and Team Member positions + Works to ensure store teams are creatively recruiting for highly skilled Service Team Members for the Wine, Beer and Spirits areas. This could include building external relationships with local resources + Leads the performance cycle for the Region including annual reviews, midyear performance updates, individual development plans, and performance improvement plans + Partners with RVP to ensure there is an action plan in place to improve Team Member Satisfaction scores + Conducts Human Resources training that include both soft skills development and operational skills training + Provides ongoing coaching and developmental ideas for the Regional Management team members + Consults on employee related concerns, issues, and progressive discipline steps + Conducts manager exit interviews, shares information and highlights opportunities for improvement + Researches hotline calls and conducts Team Member investigations as required + Actively participates in the business through regular store visits with and without the Regional team and provides feedback + Participates in the development, ongoing improvement, and implementation of Human Resources policies, procedures and processes + Ensure activities are in compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations, and notifies corporate of local updates for policy changes JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum Experience, Skills and Education: + 4 year degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field + Minimum of 4 years retail management experience + Multi- unit experience required + Minimum of 4 years Human Resource store experience with recruitment responsibilities + Ability to manage relationships at all levels + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written + Must be a strong relationship developer, consultant and demonstrate the ability to deal successfully with complexities of a company experiencing significant growth + Proven ability to attract, recruit and retain candidates from a variety of sources + Must have experience supporting a front line organization + Ability to work in a fast paced environment + Ability to effectively manage projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision + Working knowledge of all federal, state, and local employment law Preferred Experience, Skills and Education: + SPHR, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SHRM-CP preferred PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (with or without accommodations): + Ability to travel 65-70% of the time About Total Wine & More Total Wine & More is America's Wine Superstore(R)-the country's largest independent retailer of fine wine.
