The Principal Database Engineer provides support in designing and implementing an architecture development effort supporting management of CBRN threats including database design, implementation and maintenance. Responsible for providing technical expertise in creating, updating and maintaining databases as they relate to the Department of Defense (DOD) Core Architecture Data Model (CADM) and Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (JCIDS). Develop database products, evaluate problems with databases, and provide solutions. Develops DoDAF DIV-2 Logical Data Model and relates it other aspects of enterprise and program architectures and must be able to code for Microsoft's Access/SQL Server and evaluate Integration Definition 1X (IDEF1X) data models. Serves as a technical liaison regarding database design and software upgrades. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Possession of an BA/BS degree in an appropriate discipline is required. REQUIRED SKILLS: All candidates' resumes must depict having comprehensive knowledge, expertise, related experience related to: * Must have at least six (6) years of CBRN defense or CWMD System Architecture-specific experience * Must have eight (8) years general architecture experience. * Must have at least four (4) years' experience producing military operational architectures * Must have at least three (3) years' experience with bio-surveillance operational and/or system architectures. * The selected candidate must demonstrate expertise with information systems, XML, relational databases, relational data modeling using IDEF1X and ERwin Data Modeler software and software development experience using Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications, Microsoft .NET (for web applications), Java applications, and UML. * The successful candidate must be able to clearly speak and understand technical jargon as used by military planners. * The candidate must be capable of performing without direct supervision during planning conferences, technical meetings, engineering working groups, etc. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: * Must have an active TS/SCI clearance Overview SAIC is a premier technology integrator, solving our nation's most complex modernization and systems engineering challenges across the defense, space, federal civilian, and intelligence markets.
