Executive Director Salary $59,000 - $82,000 a year Location Towson, MD, United States Posted on Mar 12,2019 Apply for this job your email: upload resume: Profile Education Bachelor's Degree Skills Supervising Experience Project Management Nonprofit Experience Fundraising The Executive Director assures high level programming by monitoring program planning and delivery to assure the needs of teachers and schools are met, assist in identifying and developing new programming opportunities, and assist with program delivery when needed. The Director will secure highly qualified staff to deliver programs, provide effective supervision to the Council's two full-time employees, as well as additional part time employees, and serve as authority on all matters including hiring, performance management, training and development, and separation. One of the primary responsibilities of the Director is to serve as the Council's development officer with duties including, but not limited to, creating, implementing and revising the fundraising plan, including annual fund drive, grant writing, and special events. These goals will be achieved by maintaining existing relationships, identifying and cultivating new donors, developing and maintaining a network of advocates and supporters of economic education, and ensuring effective working relationships with organizations, school systems, and the University. As Director, this position will create and monitor the annual budget of private funds, monitoring the state appropriation, oversee preparation of monthly financial statements, the payment of bills and acknowledgement of gifts, the Council's annual external audit and IRS Forms, and approve expenditures. The Executive Director will facilitate and oversee the Council's marketing and public relations activities including arranging production of annual report and other print and non-print marketing and public relations pieces. This position works closely with the Board of Trustees to identify and cultivate board members who will assist with fundraising, marketing and public relations, relations with the legislature, finance and accounting issues and needs. The Director will coordinate the activities of the Officers, Board of Trustees, and committees of the organization, work with the governance chair to assure that board vacancies and officer positions are filled by qualified and dedicated individuals. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of progressive responsibility in financial management, project leadership, or the education/non-profit field. Knowledge of economics and personal finance, and a strong advocate of economic education Strategic self-starter with high initiative Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Maryland Demonstrated experience in building successful networks and relationships Experience in communicating with diverse audiences. Experience working with leadership in business, education or government Preferred: Experience in fundraising from corporations, foundations, and individuals Experience in collaborating with other non-profit organizations Three years supervisory experience or managing a non-profit organization Post-graduate experience, including Master's degree, financial/project management certifications A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment Salary and Benefits Competitive salary and full University benefits that include 22 days of annual leave, up to 14 holidays, personal and sick days; excellent health, life, and retirement plans; and tuition remission.
