This position leads a team of proposal professionals and subject matter experts in the generation of winning proposal artifacts in support of major Government pursuits. As a critical part of a pursuit team's leadership core (consisting of the Capture Manager, Program Manager, Technical Project Manager and Business Development Manager), the Capture Manager is instrumental in building a team-wide big-picture pursuit vision and coaching and driving the capture team to make that vision a reality. Qualified candidates are skillful communicators across functional areas, are decisive problem solvers across an array of pursuit issues, and exhibit the temperament to successfully resolve conflict. Communication and decision-making skills will be used to understand issues facing pursuit teams and distill them into innovative solutions to be applied across proposals. The successful candidate will be a critical thinker, who poses insightful questions to guide the team to better refined win strategies. The successful candidate will have penchant for driving teams to perfection, a critical eye for the written word, and a breadth of experience to coach teams using lessons learned. Major areas of responsibility for the Capture Manager include coaching the capture team on the proposal process and provide one-on-one instruction on how to develop top-quality proposal artifacts; conduct frequent in-process proposal reviews for responsiveness, compliance, argument coherence, and claim substantiation and coach authors with structured feedback to drive improvements; drive the capture team at each step in the proposal development process to apply critical thinking in the development of customer most important requirements, strategies, themes, discriminators, and other proposal materials; challenge the capture team when they are off-course; drive and ensure the necessary course corrections are implemented at the team and individual level to avoid re-work; drive the development of best practices and lessons learned to continuously improve the pursuit and order capture process; coordinate with other Capture Center of Excellence departments and administrative staff to ensure complete proposal needs are met and coordinate the activities of proposal volume leaders and numerous technical authors to produce high quality, winning proposals while meeting stringent schedule requirements. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline. 10 years of related capture experience. 5+ years of proposal management and/or program management experience.
