AECOM Lead Software Engineer in Chantilly, Virginia United States of America - Maryland, Germantown Alternate Locations US - Annapolis Junction, MD - Fort Meade, US - Chantilly, VA - 4800 Westfields Blvd Job Summary AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Developer to help lead the definition and documentation of software requirements to connect multiple DHS component systems such as XMPP chat, blue force tracking, and identity management and authentication. The Senior Developer will then implement, code, and test this integration of functionality into the already established DHS program's middleware. The position will be located within the Washington DC region Essential Responsibilities: 1. Contribute to DHS program technical integrated product team (IPT) meetings 2. Convert DHS component priorities to requirements, then to define the software system architecture 3. Based on developed requirements and architecture, integrate and develop connectors between DHS component systems for cross compatibility in the context of the program's already established middleware framework 4. Software configuration management, debugging, and unit testing 5. Duties can be performed at Germantown, Chantilly, or Fort Meade. Create software description documents Minimum Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology field (MIS, CIS, CS) or demonstrated equivalent * Must be able to pass DHS entry of duty (EOD) requirements * Must have minimum of 12 years experience Preferred Qualifications * Active Top Secret clearance or ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance * 3 to 5-years' of relevant experience working with DHS Components * 5-years' of relevant experience developing with and configuring commercial and/or Government Information Technology (IT) systems * Familiar with the Apache Spring Framework * Understanding of DHS OneNet * Development of blue force tracking applications or parts of blue force tracking functionality such as track model analysis and sensor fusion * Familiarity with the DHS S&T Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK) or similar application functionality * Experience standing up a chat application including the definition of interfaces to existing chat applications, develop the integration of chats including user access and authentication * Familiarity with XMPP (extensible messaging and presence protocol). Develop integrated functionality to manage user groups and chatrooms. Define interfaces between XMPP like chat protocols. Enterprise service bus/ messaging bus * Experience developing requirements and integration of DHS identity management software systems into the program's architecture which may include DHS AppAuth (application authentication system), Trusted ID Exchange, or HISN (homeland security information network) * Familiar with the use of SAML (security assertion markup language) tokens, coordination with the DHS ICAM (identity, credential, and access management) office and DHS OCIO (office of the chief information officer) What We Offer When you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future .
