Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) Engineer with experience in electronic hardware and software verification. This position will be located in Sykesville, MD with our Power/Control Systems organization. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's high performing, Systems Engineering team in integrating and testing the military and commercial power conditioning, distribution, and control systems of the future. We offer a dynamic work environment and an energized workforce, providing the highest level of engineering, product design and system support for our nation's aircraft carriers and submarines, as well as other military naval and ground-based system platforms. This candidate must have experience with requirement verification, integration and test skills on embedded digital control systems. Roles and Responsibilities * Leading and managing integration and verification activities on real-time digital electronic equipment with software driven embedded controllers. * Creating systems engineering documents, reports and operational documentation. * Generating and presenting material to support internal and external customer briefings. * Supporting program requirements management through use of configuration management tools. * Developing and modifying test plans and procedures to ensure compliance with the requirements. * Generating verification artifacts supporting System Design Verification Testing and Acceptance Testing. This position may be filled at a higher level based upon the following qualifications: Qualifications Basic Qualifications for a Systems Test Engineer: * Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 0 years with a Master's degree. * Experience in one or more of the following system engineering knowledge areas: technical planning, requirements derivation, functional analysis, trade studies, interface definition, system design, system integration, verification and validation, supportability, and effectiveness analyses for total systems. * Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work within diverse teams. * Strong working knowledge of lab based test equipment. * Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Test Engineer: * Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 3 years with a Master's degree or 0 years with a PhD. * Experience in one or more of the following system engineering knowledge areas: technical planning, requirements derivation, functional analysis, trade studies, interface definition, system design, system integration, verification and validation, supportability, and effectiveness analyses for total systems * Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work within diverse teams. * Strong working knowledge of lab based test equipment. * Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications: * Familiarity with military electronic control systems, in particular the United States Navy. * Experience with real time software, such as C/C++, including software and system verification. * Experience with analog electronics, power electronics, digital electronics, controls, software, and product support. * Involvement in system architecture development and system design. * Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software.
