Under minimal supervision, the Lead Audio\Visual Technician provides for the professional installation and troubleshooting of audio and video equipment and control systems. Set up, install, program and maintain all hardware and software for computers and A/V Equipment on\off Campus. Responsible for setup, Installation and termination of various types of signaling cable, configuration, operation and troubleshooting support of all A/V Equipment.Duties and ResponsibilitiesJob Duties Include: Lead and direct AV and IT team members and Contractors- give direction to technicians for successful audio/visual system deployment on-site and off-site A/V installations. Installation and termination of various types of signaling cable. Mounting displays, projectors, speakers and cameras. Mounting and cabling equipment in racks. Provides effective and responsive Audio Visual technical and classroom technology equipment support. Works with faculty to train them in the usage of equipment and meet their technology needs in the classroom. Liaison for communication between IT and Contractors. Conduct site surveys before all A/V Installations with contractors to determine A/V and networking requirements. Design, plan and test system integration on campus network. Load Configuration/GUI files for control systems & touch panels and repair all computer and A/V hardware and software. Configuration of video conferencing equipment, control systems, and audio processors. Conduct regular maintenance of hardware and software and instructional equipment such as computer carts, Smart Boards, LCD TV's, Interactive TV's, DVD devices, Sympodiums, Decoders, Amplifiers, Scalers, Extron/Crestron, NEC/Epson/Christie projectors, Video Conferencing Equipment such as Skype, WebEx and CISCO/Tandberg, etc. of the Woodbridge Campus Information Technology infrastructure as well as classrooms and offices at off campus locations including Quantico Marine Base and Ft. Belvoir. Oversee day to day work and Delegate day to day task to A/V Technicians. Train A/V Technicians on all equipment including setting up and preparing for events held in campus buildings. Maintain all A/V inventory for all campus buildings and off campus locations. Work with Campus Staff and Outside customers on requests for event setup of computer, cable and wiring, software installations and projection and control systems. Troubleshoot campus iPads, iMacs and Windows computers as wells as various computing technologies like switches, routers, control panels and networks. Extensive use of Microsoft products, email software, helpdesk software, Work with teaching faculty to train them on classroom equipment and address their instructional technology needs.Bachelor Degree in IT or related field * CTS, CTS-I or CTS-D Certification * Experience with Extron systems * Knowledge and familiarity of Cisco, Tandberg, Webex or similar video conferencing equipment * Experience in higher education A/V support
