Senior Manager, Software Engineering Are you excited by the prospect of leading a team that builds systems that defend millions of consumers and small business against fraud? Are you a leader that loves learning and delivering solutions with a wide variety of programming languages and tools? Our team is just one of a number of engineering teams supporting Card Analytics and Infrastructure in protecting Capital One customers from fraud. We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager to provide technical leadership for 2 teams in our Mclean office. Responsibilities: Demonstrate both effective people management and disciplined software development leadership. Deliver software that scales in a zero-downtime environment. Work with Product Owners to understand the desired capability, to define and prioritize work, determine deliverables, and manage workloads. Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to construct a product delivery strategy, roadmaps, and timelines Lead technical discussions and must be able to work and influence a large number of cross functional teams. Recruit top talent and ensure team members are sharpening their skills and growing their careers. Basic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or Military experience At least 8 years of software development experience At least 3 years of direct people management experience Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of software development experience and software development life cycle 5+ years of experience with Java and/or other JVM languages 5+ years of direct people management experience 3+ years of experience with any of the following technologies: AWS, DevOps, Docker, CI/CD, Spring, Spark Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.
