Chief Scientist
Key Role:

Provide creativity, analysis, and leadership to one of the firm's leading defense R&D agencies across a wide range of technology programs, including advanced biology and biological systems, advanced electronics, or sensor systems. Establish a clear engineering and science growth strategy for capturing whitespace. Analyze and apply advanced methods, theories, and research techniques to the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems. Plan, conduct, technically direct, and evaluate projects or major phases of significant projects, including coordinating the efforts of scientist and engineer technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. Conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity and review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects. Work with world-class government scientists in driving forward research efforts by providing advisory services, including strategic technical assessments of government sponsored research and development programs.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience in a science or engineering field, including chemistry, biological sciences, and physical sciences

-Experience with managing large programs and DoD contracts in the government sector

-Experience with leading and managing R&D programs

-Experience with managing and developing technical staff

-Ability to commute to Arlington, VA

-Ability to obtain a security clearance

-MS degree in Science or Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with business development in the government sector

-Experience with leading and managing government contracts

-Possession of excellent client service skills

-PhD degree in a related technical field
