  • You may qualify at the GS 13 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

    One year of specialized experience in the same work equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled. Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience in: planning and implementing activities to alleviate economic impacts to local industrial and economic development activities; managing and administering policies, and procedures related to economic adjustment plans and projects for communities; correlating the availability of Federal Agency grants, real estate, equipment, technical assistance, or private sector resources with the needs of specific communities; and coordinating or assisting communities with the development of Federal grant applications.

    You may qualify at the GS 14 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

    One year of specialized experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-13) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled. Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience in: planning and implementing activities to alleviate economic impacts to local industrial and economic development activities; managing and administering policies, and procedures related to economic adjustment plans and projects for communities; correlating the availability of Federal Agency grants, real estate, equipment, technical assistance, or private sector resources with the needs of specific communities; and coordinating or assisting communities with the development of Federal grant applications; conducting qualitative and/or quantitative studies to evaluate programs and/or project activities and develop recommendations to complex problems; securing resources to support plans and projects for communities affected by changes of economic adjustment program requirements; translating legislation into program and/or project actions.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
