    This is a BARGAINING unit position.

    Relocation expenses will NOT be paid.

    Minimum Education Requirement: To be minimally qualified for this position, applicants MUST have a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with 3 or fewer errors based on a five-minute sample.  In addition, you must have the experience listed below.

    Specialized Experience: 
    For GS-06, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal services.  Experience for this position includes updating and maintaining automated systems; assisting with the preparation and planning of projects; researching information for assigned projects; assisting in the preparation of policy and procedures; scheduling meetings; developing and maintaining an office tracking system; and proofreading, editing, and preparing correspondence; responding to inquiries; applying rules and procedures to perform a range of administrative support activities and respond to inquiries; and assuring that all documents and miscellaneous reports are administratively correct.

    Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.


    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

    Your resume, optional cover letter and supporting documentation will be reviewed to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications for the position.     • Knowledge of automated calendar applications and skill in resolving scheduling conflicts.
    • Knowledge of travel regulations, time and attendance procedures, and other administrative requests.
    • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures to respond to inquiries, reports and other documents in a timely and accurate manner.
