The Executive Assistant provides administrative support for the development department's Executive Director and major g ift officers by performing a variety of complex and confidential administrative duties. S/he serves as a backup for the donor relations team's daily reporting. The E xecu t ive Assistant interacts o n a daily basis with Georgetown law alumni, staff, and faculty, and requires extensive working knowledge of the department ' s practices and procedures. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Development, the Executive Assistant has additional duties that include but are not limited to:
- Provides primary administrative support for Major Gift Officers and the Executive Director .
- Solicits and follows up with appointments, pulls lists, and drafts correspondence.
- Coordinates Salon Events with Major Gift Officers and Executive Director.
- Serves as a backup for Donor Relations for Daily Gift Reports, acknowledgements and gift processing.
- Manages office supervision, office coverage (answering phones and doors ) , and office management (handling room reservat ion and vendors).
Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent work experience
- At least five years administrative experience, in a customer-service oriented environment; Prefere nce wi ll be given to candidates with executive level support experience and experience in higher education
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work delicately with internal and external constituents
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Preference will be given to c andi da tes with experience with Millennium , Raisers Edge, Salesforce or other contact management databas es
- Ability to handle sensitive situations and a th orou g h working knowledge of operating a PC
- Experience in special events and event management a plus
