Responsibilities: Assists in developing, implementing, and conducting training programs for the University. Develops, conducts and coordinates training activities; researches, writes, and creates new training materials; develops, analyzes and evaluates training requirements; consults and collaborates with staff members and supervisors to keep training information current; writes reports, memoranda, correspondence, newsletters, bulletins; develops training plans and calendars projected for 6-12 months; arranges classes, seminars, conferences, and workshops for University employees; evaluates and updates training programs to keep current with new techniques; demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and works cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service; conducts needs analysis studies to determine training needs within organization; confers with management to gain knowledge of specific work situations requiring the employees to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies; selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works; tests trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training; drafts policies and other communication as needed; works on special projects and provided assistance as needed; conducts exit interviews and surveys as needed; works collaboratively with other departments to develop training specific to the area; may provide back up to the Benefits function at the University as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum five (5) years of experience in training or educational program development. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Considerable knowledge of modern training and development, including principals of adult learning, training, organizational methodology and assessment techniques; ability to function well in a professional team environment and manage multiple priorities; ability to develop and maintain a comprehensive employee development program; ability to write and prepare documents using innovative techniques and styles; excellent written and oral communication skills; must have knowledge of the principles, training methods, and techniques used in education; must have the ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the execution of training programs; must be able to use graphic instruction such as drawings, layouts, or other visual aids; writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively; and able to read and interpret written information; balances team and individual responsibilities and contributes to building a positive team spirit.
SALARY: $56,000 - $62,000 GRADE: II
