Bates White Economic Consulting has an exciting opportunity for an AP Supervisor in our Washington, DC office. The AP Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of the accounts payable function as well as working with department leads to ensure efficient processes. The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Leads accounts payable function ensuring accuracy of vendor setups including collection of W-9's, expense coding, and timely recording and payment of invoices. Prepares weekly ACH and hard check runs. Manages and processes credit card payment of applicable vendor invoices and reconciles monthly statement. Manages approval of monthly firm credit card activity statements. Liaises with Operations departments relating to vendor accounts/invoices. Serves as primary point of contact for vendor billing accounts. Maintains electronic vendor files. Administers firm SmartBenefit and parking accounts. Manages monthly DC sales tax submission. Manages employee expense report final review/approval. Assists in preparation of year-end information such as expense accruals and 1099 information. Works with Assistant Controller to ensure efficient workflows and internal controls. Conducts and leads special projects as needed. Job qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred. Minimum 5 years of accounts payable experience. Basic understanding of accounting principles. Proficiency with MS Office. Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet changing deadlines and priority requests. Ability to handle confidential information. Ability to perform essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation. Ability to frequently operate a computer or other office productivity machinery. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. May require more than 40.0 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
