Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist:Receipt of all incoming customersReview all new prescriptions for completeness of patient dataCopy insurance data for all new prescriptionsFile all completed prescriptions in accord with department standardsSupply completed prescriptions to patients awaiting medication pick-upRefer all medical and medication relates questions to the PharmacistAt all times, maintain a courteous interaction with patients, visitors, departments and medical personnelAssist with unpacking, labeling and stocking of incoming productsResponsible for the accuracy of all cash register transactions (including over-rings and shortages)Compliance with all established personnel and departmental policesPreparation of prescriptions for pharmacist's review, in accordance with federal and local regulations (including labeling)Preparation of medications for clinics, departments and accountsTranscription of new Physician's orders to patient profileRefers issues which require professional judgement, to a pharmacist, for follow upInventory and product orderingManagement of floor-stock ordersBasic familiarity of proper medication dosing and use QualificationsEducation High school graduationActive DC Pharmacy Technician license required or in process Two years college training is desirable, Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.Experience Two years of verified experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail, nursing home, medical center or hospital pharmacy, required.
