    This position is located in the Office of Community Planning and Development (CPD), Office of HIV/AIDS Housing. CPD seeks to develop viable communities by promoting integrated approaches that provide decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expand economic opportunities for low and moderate-income persons. The primary means toward this end is the development of partnerships among all levels of government and the private sector, including for-profit and non-profit organizations. establishing program policy and providing grants management oversight and direction of the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program.

    You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

    Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Working with housing programs targeted towards persons with special needs including persons living with HIV/AIDs, homelessness or at risk of homelessness to address community needs.
    Examples of such experience may include:

    -Experience working with a federally-regulated housing programs at the federal or grantee administration level, such as the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program, or those programs targeted to persons with special needs including persons living with HIV / AIDS, persons who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, persons with disabilities or similar populations; OR
    -Experience with understanding and making decisions based on the objectives, precedents, regulations and policies affecting the program operations of a specialized housing or other federally-regulated program related to HIV/AIDS, homelessness or similar populations; OR
    -Working with communities to understand needs related to HIV/AIDS or closely related health and social concerns, and ensuring those needs are addressed; OR
    -Assisting to coordinate internal and external collaboration efforts between federal, state, or local governments, clients and organizations related to persons with special needs including persons living with HIV / AIDS, persons who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, persons with disabilities or similar populations.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    - A one year probationary period may be required.
    - Must successfully complete a background investigation.
    - Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency
    - If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
