Obtain and maintain a Tier 5 Secret/SCI Clearance/polygraph required
Certify you have registered with the Selective Service System if you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, or certify you are exempt from having to do so under Selective Service law.
You must demonstrate at least one (1) year of the defined specialized experience and meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR).
Specialized experience is defined as:
- GS-11: performing duties such as preparing technical research and development reports making recommendations that are reviewed by the supervisor for adequacy and for conformance with established policies, precedents, and sound engineering concepts and usage; and assisting in the resolution of engineering or scientific issues by adapting methods to resolve problems or three (3) full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education; or Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or a combination of education and experience.
- GS-12: performing duties such as applying comprehensive engineering theories, concepts, principles, standards and methods; assisting in preparing specifications and guides related to technical program data; and performing technical research and preparing technical and developmental reports as it relates to engineering sites, facilities, equipment, and components.
- GS-13: performing duties such as applying comprehensive engineering theories, concepts, principles, standards, and methods; evaluating and advising management and administration on engineering development programs; and providing consultative advice on the feasibility and application of new scientific studies and major advances in engineering technologies and processes.
GS-14: performing duties such as developing initiatives, proposals, projects, and activities to support protective countermeasures; applying comprehensive engineering theories, concepts, principles, standards, and methods; evaluating and advising management and administration on engineering development programs; serving as Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for projects; and providing consultative advice on the feasibility and application of new scientific studies and major advances in engineering technologies and processes.
