Overview Peraton is seeking a Network Administrator to support our customer at the Naval Research Lab (NRL) in Washington, DC. Responsibilities What you'll do Provide administration activities support, including ongoing network support, LAN/WAN availability and addressing performance problems across the enterprise and across multiple site locations. Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment and serve as customer contact on technical and service-related problems. Maintain network security and ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures. Qualifications You'd be a great fit if you had a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or another related technical field with a minimum of eight (08) years of experience. Equivalent experience maybe considered in lieu of degree. Solid understanding and administration experience in local and wide area networks with multiple routers and VLANs. Strongly prefer experience with multiple vendor router and switch integration such as hardware from Arista, Broadcom, Cisco, and Juniper. Knowledge of vendor's CLI is required. Understanding and experience debugging routing protocols. OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP is a plus Configuration of enterprise 802.11 networks. Experience with Aruba is a plus. Experience with debugging TCP/IP V4/V6 and non-TCP/IP networking protocols. Experience with Quagga and FRRouting is preferred. Solid understanding and hands-on experience with network security and concepts. Experience with NIDS, NIPS, iptables, and firewalls is a plus Linux/Unix based operating systems experience including package installation. Hands-on experience in RedHat or Centos is preferred. Knowledge of one or more scripting languages is highly desired (Python, Perl or shell is preferred). Ability to automate network administration tasks. Demonstrated ability to install open source software in a collaborative environment with source code management. Ability to build open source packages and familiarity with Git is desirable. Strong inter-personal and communications skills. Capable of creating documentation, network diagrams, and Standard Operating Procedures. Ability to work both in a team and independently and to manage time effectively. It would be even better if you had Programming and debugging C or C++ with sockets is desirable Layer 2 and 3 tunneling including GRE, IPSec, and MPLS Open source network monitoring tools High-speed networking including 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and Infiniband Cloud based services, AWS and Azure Cloud is desirable. Optical networking MacOS Enterprise 802.11 network configuration Configuration management tools and SNMP DISA STIG compliance and checklist generation DoD Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process and RMF Certification for DoD 8570 (Security+, GSEC, etc) SECURITY CLEARANCE: To be considered for this job you must already have an Active SECRET Clearance.
