Commercial Lines Producer - Strong Independent Insurance Agency - Great Salary & Benefits Our client, a strong and stable mid-sized independent insurance agency based in the Western Maryland area, has an immediate need within their Commercial Lines Department for a skilled Commercial Producer / Account Executive. In this role, the Producer will sell commercial insurance solutions to small and mid-sized businesses in Frederick, MD and the surrounding market. The company has a great internal environment and offer an excellent environment to grow your insurance career. The role will be to serve as a consultant to your client base, offering commercial insurance solutions to small and mid-sized business owners and executives. Initially, you will take over an existing book of business. And you will then work to sell and grow this book of business. This will be done through cold calling, networking, following warm leads and more. You will establish and build long term business relationships with your customer base. Through providing solutions that meet the day to day needs of these business owners, you will quickly grow a large base of business that will renew annually. Specific tasks include: Developing custom insurance programs to meet the needs of clients, often covering a variety of risks; Prospect new clients by networking to find new customers; Handle existing book of business; Contact underwriter and submit forms to obtain binder coverage; Monitor insurance claims to make sure your client's needs are being met; Attend meetings, seminars and programs to learn about new products and services, learn new skills, and receive technical assistance in developing new accounts. Compensation in this position will include a base salary that will be flexible depending on experience. This could be in the $50k range but could go higher for the right experienced candidate. On top of this, and the real draw to this role, is a lucrative commission package. As you will be growing a large book of business, that will be renewed annually, the opportunity to earn significant residual commissions will take you well over the $100k annual income mark within a few years. Requirements The ideal candidate will have a commercial property & casualty insurance background, selling to small and medium sized businesses in the Western Maryland market. They will have at least 2 years of sales experience working for an independent insurance agency or broker. Candidate should have an active Property & Casualty license.
