What You Will Do:The Observation Tech position is a unique opportunity to join a startup program at UMMC. Observation Techs are Certified Nursing Assistants who utilize their training in a virtual setting. Observation Techs monitor 6 or more patients at a time through state-of-the-art audio and video equipment relayed through a computer workstation. This role is essential in ensuring patient safety by providing monitored care to patients at UMMC while also providing support and relief to bedside staff members by keeping an eye on the patient who pose a fall risk, possible elopement, risk to themselves, or other concerns that necessitate 24 hour monitored surveillance. This role is the new way that sitter/companion care will be provided in hospitals, and UMMC has been a leader as an early adopter of the service.What You Need to Be Successful:High School diploma or equivalent (GED). Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant preferred.Current CPR certification required - by the American Heart Association.Basic computer operations skills required.
