Check us out online at www.wmillar.com Position Overview: The Catering Sales Manager maintains a large (inherited) client base and is responsible for its continued growth through business development and new client solicitation. S/he reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic atmosphere with others that are passionate about food in the heart of Washington DC. Typical hours are Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM. Responsibilities: Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: *Client acquisition & management *Proposal writing & event planning *Lead generation & cold calling *Presenting to prospective clients in a formal setting *Working closely with other departments within the facility in a team setting *Delegation of appropriate workloads to Customer Service Reps. Requirements: Undergraduate degree. 1-4 years of sales/business development experience preferred. Experience in a hospitality environment and/or retail food sales a plus. Skills: *Well-developed ability to persuade others and sell ideas *Global business awareness including and knowledge of industry trends *Polished interpersonal and verbal communication skills *Project management and organizational abilities *Strong attention to detail *Solid computer skills, including Word, Outlook and Excel Abilities: *Strong business acumen; ability to research new business opportunities *Ability to multi-task while maintaining a strong eye for detail *Ability to develop and execute marketing / business development strategic plans and campaigns using necessary marketing mix and business development tools. *Excellent problem solving abilities and track record of good decision-making and the exercise of sound judgment. *Strong project management abilities including setting priorities, planning, organization, follow-through, delegation and negotiation skills.
