Position Jr OSLinux System Admin Location Tampa, FL Duration 12+ Months Contract Visa USC Interview Mode Phone then Skype Willing to work a second shift (eg 4 to mid-night) or after hours and weekends if require. Clear background POSITION SUMMARY The OSLinux system administrator will be directly responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, maintenance and monitoring of all Linux servers across the customer landscapes, while ensuring compliance to various security and encryption protocols. The successful candidate will need to have an excellent understanding of the LinuxUnix environment, extensive knowledge of standard system tools with the ability to use them to automate complex system tasks. Experience in a large networked environment with good understanding of network fundamentals is essential as is knowledge of network file systems and storage options. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITES 24x7 support of customer environments including operations, incidents, service requests and execution of changes Performcoordinate incident diagnosis, corrective action, and root cause analysis Pro-actively highlight and address potential problems and investigate solutions in conjunction Provision the customer cloud (AWS or Azure) infrastructure landscape which includes and is not limited to building the VPC, creating VMs and EC2 instances, VPN for the Cloud hosted environments, running scale services on AWS or other hyperscalers Identify areas for improvement with a view to maintaining and enhancing the reliability, stability, integrity and security of the customer landscapes Leverage existing automation to expedite deployments and service requests as well we identify areas of operations quality deficit or automation opportunities Design and develop infrastructure monitoring (Splunk, Nagios) and reporting tools for the customer landscape Perform day-to-day administration, operations, maintenance and support for servers in the customer landscape which includes and is not limited to monitoring, monthly patching, upgrades, backups and customer service requests Building automated process for maintenance and support tasks using scripts and Dev Ops tools (Ansible, Python, Jenkins) Ensure contractual SLAs are met Conform and adhere to change management process for customer environments Create documenting for all process and support tasks Provide guidance as a subject matter expert on product design, development, troubleshooting and documentation applications that run-on AWS or any other cloud hyperscaler Maintain responsibility for end-user (customer) satisfaction QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field Minimum 2-3 years experience working with operating systems especially Linux Strong Linux skills (administration, patching, installations, troubleshooting, monitoring), Experience with Linux and proven strong Shell scripting Knowledge and familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, splunk, AWS cloudwatchcloud trail Knowledge of automation and dev ops tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Pyton is a plus Knowledge of other OS like Windows is a plus Willing to work a second shift (eg 4 to mid-night) or after hours and weekends Good oral and written communication skills in English US Citizen.
