Overview Peraton is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer in Reston, VA to support our government and commercial customers Responsibilities This position will be responsible for deploying and maintaining a variety of infrastructure services to support our customer-facing products and our Enterprise IT needs. The position will be working in a group of engineers with varied experience and skill levels, and across departmental boundaries and continents. We expect and encourage teammates to take advantage of this and get exposed to new technologies while bringing their own experiences to the group. The Infrastructure group is responsible for the following technologies, and the candidate should be comfortable or be able to get comfortable with them in a production environment. VMware vSphere, vCenter Server, and VSAN Unix-based storage systems which back VMware clusters, not limited to FreeBSD, FreeNAS, and NFS, and typical tasks associated with these (replication, backups, snapshots, RAID, high availability, performance tuning) Routing, switching, and packet filtering on a variety of platforms not limited to OpenBSD (pf), Linux (iptables/iproute2), Cisco switches, Juniper Routers, and Cumulus (white-box) switches Network technologies including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, IPsec, SSL, TLS, Spanning Tree, VLANs, QoS Dell and Supermicro rack-mount servers, iDRAC, IPMI, hardware health monitoring, BIOS and firmware upgrades Open source monitoring software including nagios, check_mk, Observium Physical datacenter operations including cross-connects, power, and environmental requirements All of the above with a mind-set of doing things in a secure and robust fashion Unix and Linux use and troubleshooting to support other job duties Basic scripting (python, bash, perl) to automate tasks that can be automated Qualifications REQUIRED: 4 years minimum experience Strong communications skills Ability to think critically and troubleshoot effectively PREFERRED: Experience with advanced automation (ansible, SDN, Kubernetes) Experience with Docker, especially as it relates to networking Administration of Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and Wireless Access Points Administration of Cisco Spark Kit VTC units Familiarity with client mobile technologies (Cellular Modems, OpenWRT, out-of-band access) and provider mobile technologies (GGSNs, STP, GRX) VOIP (SIP, Freeswitch, Asterisk, CDRs, Polycom phones) SECURITY CLEARANCE : This position requires the candidate to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
