  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    You must meet ALL of the minimum qualifications listed below.
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or any other degree that includes 24 semester hours in accounting
    • At least one (1) year of experience conducting program or performance audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of programs, functions, and operations
    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
    • Advanced degree in accounting or any other related business degree
    • Professional certification(s), i.e.: CPA, CIA, SixSigma, SAP FSCM, CPIM, FSCM, CFCM, CPCM, etc
    • Experience in TeamMate

    A structured Interview will be conducted for the top rated applicants to validate your experience meets the critical general competencies at the minimum proficiency level:
    • Knowledge of auditing concepts, principles, and methods sufficient to work independently using conventional procedures and practices
    • Knowledge of the OIG's business practices pertaining to auditing
    • Knowledge of agency programs and their governing statutes, regulations, and practices sufficient to perform audit assignments to include field work using generally accepted Government auditing standards.
    • Ability to work independently on routine or continuing assignments.

    Audit Operations, Inspection Service, Finance, Financial Controls, Cost and Pricing, Delivery & Retail Operations, Sales, Marketing & International may also be filled from this announcement as they are authorized.

    The USPS OIG uses a Pay Banding system, which is equivalent to the Federal GS scale. Grade and salary determinations will be made based upon a candidate's education and professional experience.

    This position is being advertised at the Journey Band - Non Exempt, equivalent to a GS-07. The base salary range for this position is $36,356 - $47,264. This position is also being advertised at the Journey Band - Exempt, equivalent to a GS-09. The salary range for this position is $44,471 - $57,809. The salary figures does not include locality pay. Career ladder to GS-13 equivalent is at management's discretion.
