  • Physical Requirements: 

    Pipefitters make repairs and installation from ladders, scaffolding and platforms, and where the work is in hard-to-reach places.  They are required to stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring positions.  They frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds.  This employee's work requires prolonged standing, climbing up and down ladders and scaffolding, and working in cramped positions.

    You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

    Applications will first be evaluated to determine whether the following screen out element is met:

    1. Ability to do the work of the Pipefitter without more than normal supervision.

    If an applicant meets the screen-out element, the following Job Elements will be evaluated:

    • Knowledge of Equipment, assembly, installation, repair, etc.
    • Knowledge of technical practices (theoretical, precise, artistic).
    • Ability to interpreting instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprint reading).
    • Ability to use measuring instruments and layouts materials/instruments associated with plumbing work.
    • Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment used to perform minor repairs and maintenance.
    • Ability to manage trouble shooting.
