  4. You will be required to serve a trial period if selected for a first-time appointment to the Federal government, transferring from another Federal agency, or serving as a first-time supervisor. Failure to successfully complete the trial period may result in termination of employment. This does not apply to current federal Judiciary employees.
  5. Relocation expenses may be provided, but only if authorized by the Director of the AO.

Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.

Basic Requirements: You must have Information Technology (IT) related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies:
  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
AND

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience in each of the following areas:
  1. Demonstrated experience establishing and executing strategic plans and roadmaps, ensuring compliance with necessary mandates, and establishing organizational understanding and buy-in;
  2. Demonstrated experience in the Federal budget process and financial management practices and procedures including planning, formulation, justification and execution;
  3. Demonstrated experience in project management principles, methods, and tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources;
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of IT infrastructure domains including data centers, networks, server utilization, virtual environments, storage, cloud, and application development; and
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of Technology Business Management principles and methods.

Desired, but NOT Required: The ideal candidate for this position will have a Project Management Professional certification.
