This role is on a full time, direct hire basis and will pay an annual base salary of 130K to 150K plus an excellent benefits package. Candidates must possess extensive experience with VMware VDI, ESXi and vSphere. VDI Engineer VDI Architect VMWare Engineer VMWare Architect Systems Responsible for provisioning and maintaining virtual desktop services using VMware VDI. Provides assistance to Infrastructure Architect in provisioning and maintaining virtual infrastructure using VMware vSphere. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Maintain a scalable and high availability virtual desktop environment utilizing VMware Horizon View.Assist in maintaining desktop images and configuring Windows 7 and Windows 10 desktops as required.Develop plans for deploying and administering virtual machines, images and applications using App Volumes.Manage and balance virtual machine resources across hosts in the clusters.Perform daily VMware VDI administration, maintenance and upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.Assist in managing the Horizon View 7.x VDI environment and client access.Establish and maintain service levels, monitor vSphere implementations, and manage vCenter server alarms.Troubleshoot and resolve ESXi and VDI issues.Establish and maintain service levels, monitor vSphere implementations, and manage vCenter server alarms.Troubleshoot and resolve ESXi and VDI issues.Assist with researching, evaluating and recommending VMware related software, hardware and services.Assess virtual machine VDI risks and perform contingency planning.Stay current on virtual machine and VDI related technologies. Expertise in VMware virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) administration. Ability to troubleshoot, identify and correct malfunctions and help resolve multi-faceted problems. Ability to perform capacity and resource planning, assess risks and provide recommendations for VMware Horizon View infrastructure. Good verbalwritten communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to analyze and solve problems in a timely manner. Strong team player with the capability to work independently on projects. 5 or more years of work experience in networkserver administration. In-depth knowledge of VMware VDI is required. In-depth knowledge of VMware App Volumes is required. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 and 10 operating systems is required. Working knowledge of VMware ESXi and vSphere. Working knowledge of storage area network (SAN) technologies is a plus. Working knowledge of Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) is a plus. Working knowledge of thinzero client technologies is a plus.
