We are seeking a radar software engineer to help us develop next generation radar, electronic warfare (EW) and communications systems and associated technologies for ship, air and ground mobile applications. As a member of our team, you will contribute to exciting projects supporting the US Department of Defense and other organizations. You will have an opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary team to develop new technology and approaches alongside government experts in the field. The Radar and Electronic Warfare Systems Development group within the Air and Missile Defense Sector at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory has an exciting opening available for a tactical Radar Software Engineer. We are looking for someone with experience developing tactical software for DoD systems. As a Radar Software Engineer: You will lead the development of software architectures and new applications, algorithms, software, user-interfaces, etc. This opportunity requires creative application of new software technologies to emerging radar systems. You will research, investigate, and experiment with new programming technologies including use and applicability of different types of software technology used in unconventional ways. Finally, you will work with different hardware platforms, such as FPGAs, GPPs and GPUs for use in DoD systems. You will have the opportunity to research state of the art techniques and collaborate with experts in the field. You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you Have a BS degree in any of Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent Have 10 years' experience in radar software development/engineering including experience with any of the following: requirements analysis, software architecture, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, maintenance, support, testing and problem diagnosis Are able to obtain an interim secret clearance prior to starting Have knowledgeable of radar techniques: clutter mapping, radar signal processing, moving targets, etc Have knowledgeable in radar architecture including schedulers and trackers Ability to obtain an interim Secret clearance prior to starting You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you Have an MS or Ph.D. in the disciplines listed above Have experience working in the area of Electronic Warfare and RF Why work at APL?
