Overview Peraton is seeking a Systems Administrator to support our customer at the Naval Research Lab (NRL) in Washington, DC. Responsibilities What you'll do Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, software deployment, security updates and patches. Deploys laptops, desktops, printers and scanners Primary interface with the customer for help desk issues Supports/coordinates on-site installs/upgrades Troubleshoots all hardware/equipment/software and system problems Performs system-level preventive maintenance Suggests new/alternative suggestions for service improvements Qualifications You'd be a great fit if you had a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or another related technical field with a minimum of five (05) years of experience. Equivalent experience maybe considered in lieu of degree. Solid understanding and system administration experience in Linux/Unix based operating systems. Hands-on experience in RedHat or Centos are a plus. Knowledge of one or more scripting languages is required (Python, Perl or shell). Ability to automate system administration tasks. Demonstrated ability to build and support open source software in a collaborative environment with source code management. Git is desirable. Knowledge of network file systems administration. Distributed file system experience including OpenAFS and Lustre is a strong plus. Strong inter-personal and communications skills. Capable of writing documentation and Standard Operating Procedures. Ability to work both in a team and independently and to manage time effectively. It would be even better if you had MacOS experience Experience programming and debugging at a high-level language. C is desirable. Knowledge writing, customizing, or debugging SELinux policies Experience with Kerberos and PKI Experience in LDAP, BIND, Postfix, Apache Configuration management experience with Puppet or Ansible is a strong plus HPC environment user or system administration experience Experience with host and network firewalls Experience debugging TCP/IP networking protocols Experience with high-speed networking including 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and Infiniband DISA STIG compliance and checklist generation experience DoD Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process and RMF experience Certifications for DoD 8570 (Security+, GSEC, etc) SECURITY CLEARANCE: To be considered for this job you must already have an Active SECRET Clearance.
