This new hire will work in McCormick Corporate HQ, located at 24 Shilling Road in Hunt Valley, MD . The Director International Tax will report to the Senior Director Federal & International Tax.. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing, preparing and reviewing all aspects of US international tax compliance to ensure timely, complete and accurate compliance and financial reporting and for a prominent role in global tax planning and tax examination defense.. Responsible for analyzing, preparing and reviewing all aspects of US international tax compliance to ensure timely, complete and accurate compliance including the completion of all applicable forms, tax return disclosures and elections related to foreign operations and all other required international tax filings (eg 5471, 8858,1118, etc.).. Responsible for maintaining earnings and profits calculations of non-US subsidiaries. Subpart F compliance, foreign tax credit calculations and substantiation for purposes of the US tax return income sourcing and allocation and apportionment of expenses for purposes of the foreign tax credit utilization.. Responsible for US GAAP income tax reporting requirements under ASC740 including quarterly income tax forecasts, annual budgeted income tax provisions relating to Subpart F income inclusion and foreign tax credit utilization.. Review of foreign entity provision reporting packages, handling income tax accounting and provisions including FIN 48 and SOX Section 404 compliance. Reviewing financial data for proper application of tax laws.. Collaboration with business units to proactively identify and research international tax planning opportunities and evaluation of the tax effect and implications of international business initiatives, contemplated transactions, and business proposals. Prominent role in modeling global tax planning and tax strategy development, implementation and maintenance of the Company's consolidated effective tax rate and cash tax position.. Preparation of supporting US and Foreign income tax examination information or document requests.. Representation of and advocacy for McCormick positions with revenue authorities.. Active monitoring of legislative, regulatory and judicial changes that impact McCormick's tax planning, compliance and audit positions, including developing and scenario modeling and periodic reviews of tax issues that may have an impact on the Company.. Responsible for providing coaching, development, and leadership to direct reports.. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS. Bachelor's Degree in Finance (including Tax).. CPA certification. 10+ years' experience with international tax compliance, audit and accounting issues.. Broad understanding of US federal income tax rules.. Big 4 or large law firm experience required (minimum 5 years).. In-house experience with outbound US multinational preferred.. 5 years Management experience (leading and coaching).. Rigorous understanding of a complex, global supply chain, manufacturing and distribution model and the application of US and other significant non US countries rules to minimize taxes consistent with McCormick global strategy.. Independent and creative thinking for tax planning, responsibility for a wide array of detailed compliance and financial reporting.. Excellent verbal & written communication skills which will be used internally within McCormick with business units, supply chain, finance, IT and shared service support and will be used externally with revenue authorities and outside advisors to establish and maintain productive working relationships.. Must be able to "translate" complex concepts and calculations.. Strong project management and people management skills.. Excellent quantitative skills, proficiency with Excel.. Strong tax research, analytical and writing skills.. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONs. Master's Degree in Taxation, JD, or MBA..
